English Teacher – Basingstoke

Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner if available)
Contract: Full Time / Permanent
Salary: MPR / UPR
Suitable for: ECTs and experienced teachers

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Create a calm, inclusive and purposeful classroom environment
  • Support students of all abilities, including those with SEND
  • Use assessment effectively to track progress and raise attainment
  • Promote a love of reading, writing and communication
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and pastoral teams to support student success

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent)
  • Has experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3–KS4)
  • Can inspire and motivate students of all abilities
  • Maintains high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Demonstrates strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Is passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives
