Teacher of Design & Technology

Teaching Personnel working in partnership with a large secondary school situated in Wigan to support with the recruitment of a full-time Teacher of Design and Technology to join their school from January 2020.

Due to slight changes within the faculty, the school have an open gap within their Technology department following the Christmas break and wish to meet with interested Teachers of Design and Technology at the earliest opportunity.

It has been highlighted that the incoming Teacher of Design and Technology must have had experience teaching Resistant Materials to students who are aged 11-16 in a secondary school setting.

  • Teacher of Design and Technology required, January 2020 start.
  • Must have experience teaching Design and Technology, with an emphasis on Resistant Materials.
  • Teaching a full timetable across Key Stage Three and GCSE.
  • Competitive pay rates in line with MPS/UPS standards.
  • Full planning and marking included.

Due to an upcoming gap within the Technology department, our client school now wish to appoint a teacher who has experience delivering lessons of Resistant Materials across KS3/GCSE from January 2020. The school will be aiming to appoint for this position with an initial offer of employment through to the summer, however if successful over the first temporary period then the school will be looking to extend this with permanent contract opportunities available.

The incoming Teacher of Design and Technology will be joining a well resourced and supportive Technology department that is made up of five highly experienced Teachers of Design and Technology.

This secondary school located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre has an excellent reputation and was most recently judged by Ofsted as a 'Good' school across all areas. The school caters for pupils aged 11-18 with examination results above the national expectation. Located on the outskirts of the town centre close to Robin Park, the school is easily accessible from the surrounding areas; St Helens, Warrington, Chorley, Leigh, Bolton and Salford areas.
