SEN Specialist – Primary School Support – Streatham
Location: Streatham, South London
Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing
Contract: Full-Time or Part-Time | Long-Term
Inclusive and supportive primary schools in Streatham are seeking an experienced SEN Specialist to support pupils with additional learning and emotional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
The role will involve working closely with pupils, teachers and the school’s SENCo to provide tailored support and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
About the Role:
As an SEN Specialist, you will:
• Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs
• Work 1:1 or with small groups to deliver structured interventions
• Support pupils’ emotional regulation and social development
• Help adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
• Assist teachers in implementing personalised support plans
• Work closely with the SENCo and wider support staff
• Promote an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
What We’re Looking For:
• Strong experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs
• Background as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role
• A patient, resilient and empathetic approach
• Confidence supporting behaviour and emotional needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for inclusive education
