Teacher / Cover Supervisor required for BTEC Home Cooking

We are a small SEN provision, looking to appoint a teacher or cover supervisor (pay rate will vary for an unqualified teacher) to carry out BTEC Home Cooking Skills with our Key Stage 4 students. This is a part time role, Monday and Tuesday, term time only.

You will be responsible for a small class of 14-16 year olds, with no more than 6 pupils per lesson. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Food Technology / Cookery teacher or have recent experience within the catering field and have the ability to teach the students in their care. A valid qualification in Food Hygiene or something similar would be ideal. Our students have been excluded from or are transitioning into mainstream education. Strong behaviour management skills are essential for our pupils.

We receive regular food donations and you will create menu plans based on ingredients available. You will guide the class in creating a meal that can be served to pupils and staff on campus. With 4 lessons per day, classes are a mix of theory and practical. We are easy to locate by car or public transport and only 10 miles from Brighton, and 3 miles from nearby Worthing.
