KS2 PPA Teacher – Dorchester
Teaching Personnel are currently looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable KS2 PPA Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in the Dorchester area.
The school is looking for a confident teacher who can start as soon as possible and provide high-quality PPA cover across Key Stage 2. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced primary teacher who enjoys working across different year groups and subjects and can quickly establish positive relationships with pupils and staff.
The Role
As a KS2 PPA Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Years 3–6.
- Cover teachers' PPA time across a range of KS2 classes and subjects.
- Follow existing planning and curriculum expectations, adapting lessons where necessary.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, learning and pupil engagement.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff across the school.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of different abilities and learning needs.
- Monitor pupil understanding and provide appropriate feedback.
- Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers and the wider school team.
- Ensure continuity and consistency of learning when moving between classes.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has recent experience teaching within Key Stage 2.
- Has a strong understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum.
- Is confident teaching across Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
- Has excellent classroom management skills.
- Is adaptable and comfortable working with different classes and year groups.
- Can quickly establish positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Has high expectations of behaviour, achievement and pupil progress.
- Is organised, reliable and enthusiastic.
- Is available to start as soon as possible.
DBS & Safeguarding Requirements
Teaching Personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
The successful candidate will ideally hold an Enhanced DBS with Children's Barred List check on the DBS Update Service.
If you do not currently have a suitable DBS on the Update Service, Teaching Personnel can support you with the application process.
Please note: the DBS must be suitable for working with children only and must include the appropriate enhanced children's workforce checks. Teaching Personnel's safeguarding process includes enhanced DBS and Children's Barred List checks as part of registration.
What You Will Need to Apply

- An up-to-date CV covering your full employment history for the last 10 years.
- Details of any employment gaps, with an explanation where applicable.
- Evidence of QTS and relevant teaching qualifications.
- Two suitable professional references, including recent employment where possible.
- An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply through Teaching Personnel.
- The right to work in the UK.
