Support Worker SEN teaching Assistant- Highbury and Islington

Teaching Personnel are seeking behaviour and Autism 1:1 mentors for a special day school in Highbury and Islington for pupils with high functioning Autism and Social, Emotional, Mental Health difficulties. The role will be an immediate start in November for a two term contract post in the first instance with the potential to become a permanent member of staff. This post would be best suited to anyone with a  background in  PRUs , Sports (coaching), Psychology, Youth Work, Art and Design and Music and holds training such as Team-teach or Positive Intervention . 

This is a lively provision which provides a therapeutic, nurturing environment for all pupils. There is specialist training and support provided by the Head teacher and highly qualified support staff in small class sizes. Previous experience and/ or understanding of working with Behaviour and or Autism is essential. You may be required to also deliver off site 1:1 support so I would be really keen to speak with anyone who is confident in delivering 1:1 support across all subjects for children of an extremely challenging nature.

Specification:

• Daily rate GBP300-350 per week dependant on experience
• Previous experience working with autism or challenging behaviours 
• Can deliver 1:1 and small group support for children with autism and complex behavioural needs
• School hours 8.15-4.30pm Monday to Friday during school term time
• Potential to secure a permanent contract
