Job description

Primary Supply Teachers Needed - St Helens

Whether you're an experienced PPA Teacher, a recently retired educator looking to stay connected to the classroom, or a qualified teacher ready to return to teaching after time away, we would love to hear from you.

At Teaching Personnel Liverpool Primary, we're proud to support a large network of welcoming primary schools throughout St Helens and surrounding areas, including WA9, WA10, WA11, WA12, WA8, L34, L35 and nearby postcode areas. With increasing demand for high-quality supply teachers, we're looking for passionate educators who want to make a difference while enjoying the flexibility and work-life balance that supply teaching can offer.

About Us

Teaching Personnel is one of the UK's leading education recruitment specialists, supporting schools with day-to-day cover, PPA release teaching, intervention support and long-term staffing solutions.

Unlike many agencies, we understand that teachers aren't simply looking for another booking. You're looking for a consultant who listens, values your experience and finds the right opportunities based on your preferences.

Whether you're seeking full-time work, a few days each week, or occasional assignments around other commitments, we'll work around your availability.

Why Join Teaching Personnel?

  • Flexible work to fit around your lifestyle
  • Easy-to-use Teaching Personnel app to accept or decline bookings
  • Simple online registration process, with most vetting completed in two weeks or less
  • Opportunities across a wide range of local primary schools throughout St Helens
  • Dedicated consultant who takes the time to understand your preferences, backed by 5-star Google reviews
  • Choose the year groups, key stages and locations that suit you
  • Competitive daily rates paid weekly via PAYE
  • Day-to-day, short-term, long-term and PPA cover opportunities available
  • Consistent work available throughout the academic year
  • Guaranteed Work Scheme available for teachers with access to a vehicle
  • Ideal for retired teachers who want to remain in education without the pressures of a permanent role
  • Perfect for teachers returning to the classroom and looking to rebuild confidence and recent experience

What Makes Us Different?

In a crowded supply market, we focus on building long-term relationships rather than making quick placements.

We don't believe in sending teachers to random schools without understanding what they're looking for. Instead, we take the time to learn about your strengths, preferred year groups, travel requirements and career goals so we can match you with schools where you'll genuinely enjoy working.

Many of our teachers choose to work exclusively with Teaching Personnel because they value our honest communication, reliable work opportunities and ongoing support.

Opportunities include:

  • PPA Cover Teacher positions
