Support Worker in North Hampshire

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking new Support Workers for specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health and Special Educational Needs provisions in the North Hampshire region. The needs of attending pupils are varied, but include:

  • Behavioural difficulties
  • Anti-social and disengaged behaviour
  • Autism
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties

The provisions strive for close pupil and teacher relationship, in order to help the pupils through their education and pastoral needs. Successful candidates will be required to take on this ethos!


The Role:

  • Hours: 8:00 - 15:00 Monday - Friday

Full time is preferred but part time applicants may still apply, as job shares can be available.


The Candidate:

Ideal candidates need to drive with access to their own vehiclie. Do still apply if you can't drive as we also work very closely with schools in the surrounding area that have access with public transport.

Ideal applicants should have previous experience working with complex behaviour or challenging needs. Even without experience directly with complex needs, experience in any of the following could help the candidate succeed in this role:

  • Psychology education or profession
  • Youth/Community work experience
  • Care worker
  • Challenging behaviour within family
  • Mentoring
  • SEN Experience

Applicants will be expected to support teacher within the classroom, whilst helping pupils through their curriculum. Applicants should have a passion for mentoring pupils through their education, whilst supporting them pastorally.

Teaching Personnel do offer many development courses through our CPD Academy; such as Autism Awareness, Safeguarding and Team Teach to help support any successful candidates within this environment.
