Teaching Personnel are seeking a compassionate and resilient Support Worker to join a specialist Secondary SEN School in Bury, supporting students aged 11-19 with a wide range of additional needs.
This rewarding role involves working closely with young people across multiple pathways within the school, supporting their academic progress, social development, independence, and wellbeing. The position may involve providing personal care and supporting students who can display challenging behaviours, so confidence, patience, and a proactive approach are essential.
Your Responsibilities
⭐ Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups throughout the school day
⭐ Build positive relationships that promote trust, confidence, and engagement
⭐ Support students with a range of complex needs across different learning pathways
⭐ Assist with personal care where required, maintaining dignity and respect at all times
⭐ Help manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support strategies
⭐ Encourage independence, communication, and life skills development
⭐ Support students' social, emotional, and mental wellbeing
⭐ Contribute to a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
We're Looking For Someone Who:
✔ Is caring, patient, and resilient
✔ Has experience supporting young people or vulnerable individuals in education, care, support work, or residential settings
✔ Is comfortable providing personal care when required
✔ Can confidently support individuals who may display challenging behaviours
✔ Has strong communication and teamwork skills
✔ Is adaptable, proactive, and committed to helping young people achieve their potential
✔ Is available for full-time work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
