A Specialist Setting located in Rochdale are currently looking to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant for a September 2019 start. The setting provides education for pupils who are out of mainstream education for a variety of reasons which may include: perm exclusion and SEMH needs. The aim of the Setting is to where possible is to reintegrate pupils back into mainstream education, however this is not always possible.
The position is full time and is initially temporary for the first term September- December, however for the right candidate there could be the potential for a permanent position. This role will involve working in collaboration with the classroom teacher to provide interventions to pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour. The main aim of the setting is to integrate pupils back into mainstream; however this is not always possible. The pupils who attend this setting often show signs of challenging behaviour, so therefore the ideal teaching assistant will have extensive experience of working with pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour.
The ideal teaching assistant will have:
- Team-Teach training (desirable)
- Extensive experience working with pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour
- Experience of working within a PRU
