Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Student Support Manager to join a welcoming secondary school in the Poole area. This full-time, term-time role (37 hours per week) offers the chance to make a real difference to young people’s wellbeing and achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on safeguarding as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, working closely with external agencies and families.

  • Support the social, emotional and behavioural needs of students, including those who are vulnerable, disadvantaged or have SEND.

  • Drive excellent attendance, working with students and parents to reduce absence and celebrate improvements.

  • Coordinate interventions and maintain accurate student records in line with statutory guidance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting young people in an educational or pastoral setting.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and attendance management is desirable.

Role Details

  • Hours: 37 per week, term time only (Mon–Thu 8:00–4:00, Fri 8:00–3:30)

  • Start date: October 2025
  • Salary: Grade G, Points 18–23 (depending on experience)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
