Location: Newport, South Wales
 Pay Rate: £89.38 per day
 Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
 Contract: Start October 2025 for full academic year


About the Role

Do you enjoy working with young people and want to help them get the most out of their education?

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a part-time Student Engagement Coach to support pupils in lessons at one of our partner secondary schools in Newport. In this role, you’ll work closely with students who need extra support to stay focused, engaged, and motivated in class. You’ll be a positive role model, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and develop the confidence to achieve their potential.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience, support students who need it most, and make a real difference to their progress and wellbeing.


What We’re Looking for?

  • A genuine interest in helping every student feel confident, included, and capable of success
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students
  • The ability to motivate and re-engage pupils who may struggle to stay focused in lessons
  • Patience, resilience, and consistency when managing challenging behaviours

Requirements

Teaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain:

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • At least two professional referencescovering the past two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
