Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full Academic Year
About the Role

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Newport to recruit an Unqualified Teaching Assistant.
In this role, you will work alongside teachers and the school’s Additional Learning Needs (ALN) team, providing classroom support and helping pupils of all abilities to engage in their learning. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to start a career in education.
What We’re Looking for?
We welcome applicants who can bring:
- A positive, proactive, and compassionate attitude
- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills in a school setting
- Assist pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and other support requirements
- Previous experience or relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
Requirements
Teaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain:
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- An Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service
- Level 2 Safeguarding training
- At least two professional references covering the past two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
