Graduate Learning Support Assistant
Job description
Location: Secondary School, Newport
Pay Rate: £110-£120 per day
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Start October 2025
About the Role
Are you a recent graduate or currently studying and eager to take the next step in building confidence, developing your expertise, and gaining valuable hands-on classroom experience?
Teaching Personnel is working with a fantastic secondary school in the Newport area to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic individual to support teaching and learning across a range of subjects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering a future in education or looking to strengthen their classroom management and communication skills. While you won’t be expected to plan or assess, your subject knowledge from your studies will help you guide students through their work, answer questions, and keep them engaged in their learning.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment, managing behaviour effectively, and ensuring students understand what’s expected of them. Each day brings something new, offering the chance to build strong relationships with learners and gain valuable classroom experience.

Requirements
Teaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain:
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Level 2 Safeguarding training
- At least two professional referencescovering the past two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
