SSA Behaviour Support needed in Southampton

We are exclusively partnered with Specialist Education provision delivering education services to children and young adults with a wide range of behavioural and learning difficulties. They currently require a full time Behavioural Assistant to start in their school sites in late 2018 (November/December) and early 2019 (January). The role will be focused on supporting the teacher with pupils, providing educational support and general well-being. Attending pupils are aged between 11 - 16 year old with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The role is to work in the school, operating as a Teaching Assistant supporting attending pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong ability and skills to keep students engaged and "on track" with their educational development.
• Provide emotional support and provide motivation
• Experience working with individuals (children or adults) with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).
• Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to challenging situations.
• An outstanding track record of reliability, professionalism and hard work

Applicants for this position must undergo or currently own an up-to-date Enhanced Child workforce only DBS check which is on the update service. If applicants do not currently own a DBS, full support and guidance is provided.
