We are exclusively partnered with Specialist Education provision delivering education services to children and young adults with a wide range of behavioural and learning difficulties. They currently require a full time Behavioural Assistant to start in their school sites in late 2018 (November/December) and early 2019 (January). The role will be focused on supporting the teacher with pupils, providing educational support and general well-being. Attending pupils are aged between 11 - 16 year old with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
The role is to work in the school, operating as a Teaching Assistant supporting attending pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong ability and skills to keep students engaged and "on track" with their educational development.
- Provide emotional support and provide motivation
- Experience working with individuals (children or adults) with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).
- Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to challenging situations.
- An outstanding track record of reliability, professionalism and hard work
Applicants for this position must undergo or currently own an up-to-date Enhanced Child workforce only DBS check which is on the update service. If applicants do not currently own a DBS, full support and guidance is provided.
This will be a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist provision that offer outstanding support to children and young adults who need additional support. It will also provide a chance to make a real difference to the lives of their pupils and students, many of which have previously experienced difficulty in sustained learning within a mainstream provision.
