Various secondary schools in the Leyland area are urgently looking for confident Sport/Coach Graduates to cover PE and other subject areas across KS3 and KS4. The role of a Cover Supervisor is ideal for Sport Graduates who are considering a career in teaching or want to gain experience in the education sector. It is a great opportunity to gain invaluable experience, whilst choosing your hours of work and earning a good income.

The role:

As a PE Cover Supervisor, you will be expected to oversee lessons in the absence of the teacher. You will not be required to deliver the lesson itself but you must ensure that the pupils are on task. You will need to manage behaviour in line with the school policy so you must be confident and have a strong, firm, but fair approach.

  • *FULL TRAINING PROVIDED - CPD ACADEMY*
  • An Introduction to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Safeguarding, Child Protection and Prevent
  • Behaviour Management Training - Level 1

Future Teachers Programme: The programme is designed in partnership with Teaching Personnel. The successful graduates will complete 12 months (Academic year) working within the school completing a range of roles including Supporting Teachers in class, leading small groups in your specialist subjects, monitoring pupil progress and attainment and reporting to class teachers. Upon completing the initial 12 month position the Graduates will then start on the school direct teacher training at one of the partnered schools with the view to becoming an outstanding Teacher.

The requirements:

  • Be qualified to degree level.
  • Have some experience working with small or large groups of children.
  • Be available at least 3 days a week.
  • Be flexible and available at short notice.
  • Being able to drive would be an advantage
