Are you a Sports coach aspiring to be a secondary PE teacher? Do you want to enhance your school based experience prior to starting your teacher training?

Due to the competitive nature of PE specific teacher training programmes, Teaching Personnel are working with a number of our client schools in Rochdale to enable Sports Coaches to gain the necessary school based experience, on a paid basis.

- Meaningful insight in to the working life of secondary school teachers

- Invaluable and required school experience to enhance your PGCE application

- Flexible work around studies or current employment, tailored to suit your needs

- Earn whilst you gain experience (up to £300 per week)

- Regular work across Rochdale secondary schools

Working in a number of secondary schools as a Sports Coach will give you the opportunity to experience leading full lessons of PE, allowing you to plan a range of sporting activities in addition to gaining classroom based experience by delivering theory based work in PE as well as other lessons. You will get the opportunity to gain an in-depth knowledge of different teaching strategies from working alongside experienced teachers & will be able to build on your behaviour management skills & classroom presence. This will enhance your application for a teacher training programme due to the regular and consistent work in a number of secondary schools.

Whilst working through Teaching Personnel, you will have the opportunity to work on a day-to-day basis, or on block placements for weeks/months, depending on your own schedule and preferences. Any Sports Coaches with their own transport or ability to travel around Oldham conveniently will be highly desirable for the schools.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
