Sports Coach – SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN School)

 Location: Birmingham
Pay: £85–£96 per day
 Full-time | Monday to Friday | Term-time only

Are you a Sports Coach looking for a new challenge? Do you want to use your energy and passion for physical activity to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

We are recruiting on behalf of a fantastic specialist primary SEN school that caters for pupils aged 4–11 with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).

This is an ideal opportunity for a sports coach, PE graduate, or active youth worker looking to build a long-term career in education or SEN.


The Role:

  • Support children with SEN in both the classroom and during outdoor/PE activities
  • Use sport and movement to help pupils regulate emotions and stay engaged
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups, supporting learning and behaviour
  • Implement tailored strategies and interventions
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff

You’ll Need:

  • Experience in coaching, physical education, or youth sport
  • A passion for working with children with additional needs
  • Resilience, patience, and a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • (Desirable) Experience working with SEN or in a school setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
