About the Role
We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and resilient Sports Coaches and Behaviour Specialists to work within a range of SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) schools across Chorley and Skelmersdale.
These roles are ideal for individuals with a background in sports coaching, mentoring, youth work, behaviour support, or alternative provision who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Use sports and physical activities as a tool to engage and motivate students.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage attendance, participation and achievement.
- Manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
- Support students both inside and outside the classroom.
- Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and pastoral teams.
- Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and self-confidence.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people in schools, sports settings, youth clubs, coaching environments or care settings.
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
- A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to challenging situations.
- Sports coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
