SEMH Teaching Support Staff Required – Chorley & Skelmersdale
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are currently recruiting SEMH Teaching Support Staff to work across a range of specialist schools and alternative provisions throughout Chorley and Skelmersdale.
This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Support Worker, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Build positive relationships and act as a positive role model.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management.
- Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
- Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Support students both inside and outside of the classroom.
What We're Looking For
We would love to hear from candidates who have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, challenging behaviour or additional needs.
- A background in education, care, youth work, coaching, residential support, mental health support or similar sectors.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
