Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Speech and Language Support Assistant to join our team, working closely with children in EYFS and KS1 who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).

About the Role:

  • Support children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) in small groups and one-to-one.

  • Implement individual support plans designed by Speech and Language Therapists and SENCO.

  • Use targeted interventions to develop communication, social interaction, and language skills.

  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to track progress.

  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs (essential).

  • Knowledge of EYFS and KS1 curriculum.

  • Understanding of SEN strategies and interventions.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children reach their potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
