Autism Support Specialist
Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Specialist to join a welcoming primary school, providing tailored support to pupils in Key Stage 2 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s learning journey and emotional development.
Role Responsibilities:

Work closely with KS2 pupils with ASC to support their learning, communication, and social development.

Adapt lesson activities and resources to suit individual learning needs.

Provide emotional and behavioural support, using strategies that promote independence and self-confidence.

Collaborate with class teachers, SENCo, and external professionals to deliver personalised education plans.

Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
Requirements:

Proven experience supporting children with ASC, ideally in a primary school setting.

Strong understanding of autism and effective support strategies.

Excellent communication skills with both children and adults.

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
-
Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
