Specialist Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Specialist Teaching Assistant to support young people aged 16–18 within a specialist post-16 education setting. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, working 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Please note that end times may vary on some weekdays depending on timetables and activities.
You will be working in a highly regarded specialist provision that offers a structured yet nurturing environment for older students. The setting is known for:

Learners have a range of Special Educational Needs, including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Communication and sensory processing differences
Key Responsibilities

Provide specialist 1:1 and small group support

Support students with learning, routines and emotional regulation

Encourage independence, confidence and engagement

Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff
Requirements

Minimum 6 months childcare experience, especially supporting young people with SEN needs

Experience within specialist or secondary SEN settings is highly desirable
-
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the location

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
