We work with an Ofstead rated 'Outstanding' school who specialise in education children ages 9-18 who have moderate and complex learning difficulties. At the school, a balanced and creative curriculum ensures that the children receive an education that is right for them, that suits their different styles of learning whilst creative a safe environment for them to flourish.
With the range of needs that need supporting, we are looking for someone who has experience in either supporting children with these needs in a classroom setting or within care or youth work. A background or knowledge of Autism spectrum condition would be ideal and an ability to remain calm and practical within difficult situations.
A caring personality and motivational attitude would be an ideal role model for these students, as you support them with their learning needs in the classroom, as well as mentoring them with their social and emotional needs.
Some 1:1 work may be necessary with certain students, but mainly you will work with small groups of children with whom you will build relationships with.
Teaching Personnel value experience from all areas of life be it professional or personal, and can offer training in areas such as Team-Teach if you do not already have it.
