We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled Specialist SEND Teacher to join our supportive and forward‑thinking primary school in Burnley. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

About the Role

As our Specialist SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Lead on the planning, delivery, and assessment of high‑quality learning for pupils with SEND needs.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and wider staff team to create personalised learning plans and interventions.
  • Use a range of strategies to support pupils with diverse needs, including SEMH, ASD, communication difficulties, and specific learning needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
  • Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive, and child‑centred school culture.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an enthusiastic and reflective practitioner with a strong passion for SEND education.
  • Holds qualified teacher status (QTS) and has experience working with pupils with additional needs.
  • Understands how to adapt teaching to meet a range of learning styles and developmental stages.
  • Shows patience, creativity, resilience, and a true commitment to inclusive practice.
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with colleagues and families.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
