Special Needs Teaching Assistants needed in Harrogate

Our partner primary school situated in the Harrogate area of is looking for an SEN specialist Teaching Assistant to join their support team in September at the start of the new academic year.

The successfully appointed SEN Teaching Assistant should have experience of interacting and working with young people with a variety of special educational needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and general vulnerability.

The school are therefore looking for a SEN specialist who can split their time between working on a 1:1 basis working with pupils and also in small groups and assist them to access their work easily and build confidence.

There will also be the chance to work within the SEN department with students in mainstream classes. There will be the opportunity to progress onto a school based contract for the successful SEN, initially starting on a supply basis with this primary school.

Highlights of this SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Pay will range between £300 - £350 per week in the first instance being paid on a supply basis
  • Opportunity to progress onto a school based contract for the right SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Should have experience in supporting students with a variety of SEN
  • Work within a large SEN department overseen by a highly supportive SENCO and Assistant SENCO
  • Team Teach Desirable (Teaching Personnel provides courses)

This school prides itself on providing the best learning environment for all students ensuring an all inclusive learning environment. The school has a fantastic provision for students with SEN, having it's own on-site Autism area and Inclusion centre. The successful SEN TA will benefit from working within this area and work alongside experienced Teaching Assistants and Teachers on a daily basis.

This primary school is located in the Harrogate area close to the airport making it very easy to get to using the and A1 and A64 motorway networks. The Train station is just a 5 minute walk to the school very well making the school easy to commute to for any SEN Teaching Assistants that may live a little further away. The school boasts fantastic facilities in general aswell as having a well resourced Ehanced Mainstream Provision on site.
