Special Needs Support Assistant
Treorchy – Min £12.83 per hour

Are you enthusiastic about supporting others? Ever considered a career in education? If so, then Teaching Personnel has the perfect opportunity for you. We are currently recruiting for Special Needs Support Assistants to work within a brilliant secondary school based in the Treorchy area. Successful applicants will be working with students in KS3 & KS4 who have various additional learning needs including Autism, ADHD & Dyslexia. This position is running on a full-time basis and available until the end of the academic year, with interviews being held online in the next 2 weeks.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers with various tasks, including lesson preparation, classroom management, and student supervision.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who may require additional help with their academic or social development.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.
  • Support teachers in implementing behaviour management strategies and maintaining discipline within the classroom.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the educational development of young learners.
  • A current Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate registered on the Update Service.
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
