Special Needs Support Assistant (1-2-1) - Full-time and permanent
A mainstream Primary school in Leeds, LS10 are currently seeking to employ a full-time / permanent Special Needs Support assistant to work with a pupil with Autism on a 1-2-1 basis in Lower Key Stage 2 (Year 3/4). The school are looking for someone to start ideally as soon as possible or, in January 2020 and this role will be made permanent for the right candidate. Candidates applying for this role must have recent and relevant experience working with children with Special Needs (Autism) and who have also supported pupils on a 1-2-1 basis.
About the school
The school in located in South Leeds (LS10)- Beeston and are an 'IMPROVING' school and are looking to become a GOOD school (by Ofsted) next year. The school are 2 form entry and they have approximately 320 pupils on school roll. The school pride themselves on their whole school behaviour management policy as well as their close and friendly staff base.
About Teaching Personnel
Teaching Personnel exclusively offer CPD and key skill courses to our candidates at Leeds Trinity University in order for candidates to up skill their professional skills within the primary teaching sector. To name a few Leeds Trinity offer; Literacy and Mathematical Development across the Curriculum, Planning and questioning for progression, Early Reading and Phonics, Teaching for Learning, Differentiation and Effective Behaviour management!

- Candidates must be available school hours from 8 - 330
- Candidates must have a positive attitude and have the required SEN support experience with primary school aged children (Autism)
- Candidates need to be confident when working with children with behavioural issues and abilities. This includes planning for differentiation and preparation for one-to-one support
- Candidates need to be open to trial days and must be punctual at all times
- Candidates need to show responsibility for their own learning as well as personal and professional development through experience, qualifications and additional training
- Candidates must be able to work as a team and individually and must be proactive when supporting and teaching pupils
- Candidate must have the Team Teach qualification (or equivalent) or, be open to completing the training through Teaching Personnel
