Job description

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: NN3 Northampton

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for SEN Specialist Teaching Assistants to work in our client secondary schools across the Northampton area.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing dedicated support to secondary-aged students with SEN. Your resilience, adaptability, and commitment will contribute to the creation of an inclusive and enriching learning environment where students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with secondary-aged students with SEN needs, providing individualized or small group support.
  • Implement and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) and maintain records of student progress.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting student engagement and emotional well-being.
  • Offer emotional and behavioural support to students, demonstrating resilience in challenging situations.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers and colleagues to ensure the successful integration of students with SEN.
  • Assist with classroom organization and management.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with secondary-aged students with ASD or SEN is advantageous.
  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm and composed in demanding situations.
  • Genuine passion for supporting young people and dedication to their personal growth and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support is a plus but not mandatory.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
