Job Opportunity: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

Are you a dedicated and passionate educator? We are currently searching for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team at a reputable local school in Birmingham. This school is a specialist Autism (ASC) school catering to both primary and secondary pupils, each with a primary diagnosis of Autism but may also have additional needs.

Position Details:

  • Contract Duration: Until the end of the academic year, with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate.
  • Start Date: Ideally prior to the Easter half term (start date subject to successful vetting checks, with a possibility of an April start).
  • Responsibilities: Planning and prepping in line with the mainstream pay scale (MPS).

Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, it is desirable if you:

  • Hold QTS – ECT/NQT candidates are also encouraged to apply.
  • Have experience working within a school setting.
  • Possess experience working with children and/or adults with SEN.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of Special Educational Needs, or show a willingness to learn.
  • Can exhibit a solid understanding of the role of a Teacher in an alternative provision.
  • Have the ability to engage pupils in their learning and provide support for their social, emotional, and personal wellbeing.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
