Temporary Spanish Teacher - Sheffield School S3 

KS3-4

Full time position

Start date: January 2021

A large secondary school in Sheffield are in search of a Spanish Teacher to join them on a temporary basis from January 2021 for 1 term, and potentially will be required until the end of the academic year. The successful applicant will be available full time to deliver Spanish to KS4. The opportunity exists for some lower key stage work (KS2).

The school operate a with a vision that is shared by all staff to ensure pupils have the best opportunity to raise their academic standards and progress throughout their time within their community. The school drives the subject of MFL, encouraging all pupils to study to GCSE level and as such offers 3 languages to a GCSE level with many students opting to take more than 1 language.

The school have a large number of pupils who have SEN and therefore have a larger ratio of support staff that the average secondary school locally. Outstanding pastoral care is something which the head is passionate about, believing all pupils are deserving of the same opportunities, and all students are taught cohesively with support staff in class and on hand to assist.

You should be a teacher who possesses the following skills, qualities and formal qualifications:

  • QTS or overseas equivalent, ideally within MFL
  • Experience working withing a UK school 
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Excellent up to date knowledge of the UK Curriculum and its standards
  • A proven track record of raising attainment within your subject
  • A genuine passion for the role of MFL within education
  • The ability to identify areas for development within pupils learning
  • The creativity to deliver engaging and informative lessons
  • Experience teaching Spanish to GCSE level
  • Ideally a secondary language of French or German to GCSE

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
