Job description

An ambitious and welcoming secondary school in Christchurch, Dorset is seeking to appoint a dedicated Spanish Teacher on a full-time basis from September 2025. The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Spanish lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The school is looking for someone with strong subject knowledge, a passion for languages, and the ability to inspire students of all abilities to achieve their potential. You will be expected to plan and deliver lessons in line with the national curriculum, track student progress, and contribute to the wider life of the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Spanish lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student progress

  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to engage learners

  • Assess and monitor student outcomes, providing effective feedback and support

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in the MFL department and beyond

  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level, ideally including GCSE

  • A genuine passion for language education and intercultural understanding

  • Strong classroom management skills and a creative approach to teaching

  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

  • A proactive and reflective attitude, with a willingness to contribute to continuous school improvement
