A special school situated close to the centre of Rochdale is looking to appoint an experienced teaching assistant (TA) for post 16 pupils with severe learning difficulties. The school currently has 253 pupils on roll and caters for pupils with special needs and disabilities (SEND) who are aged 11-19. The school was recently graded as ‘good’ by OFSTED in its most recent 2016 inspection. This role will involve working in close collaboration with a classroom teacher to support post 16 pupils with severe learning difficulties in achieving their optimal potential.
An ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Experience of working within a college environment with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- Experience of working in close collaboration with a classroom teacher
- An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the SEND code of practice
