In order to be considered for this role you must hold the following as a necessity;

QTS in Primary Education

Experience in working alongside children in a Primary setting and have the confidence to talk about how you work in the classroom and the progress your children have made, particularly with the development of Reading and Writing.

Have at least two education based references from your most recent employer(s) which are GOOD or OUTSTANDING.

Have the passion and commitment to raise standards in a primary setting through good quality planning, delivery and assessment.

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a GOOD one-form entry Primary School in the centre of Blackburn (BB2) who are looking to source a dedicated and enthusiastic Y3 Teacher from Sept. 2018 to cover maternity leave until Easter 2019. This is a full time role and the successful applicant will be expected to take on the full responsibilities of the Teacher who is going on maternity leave, this will include leading Humanities in school and partaking in parents evening.

The class is made up of 30 pupils; there are two children with Autism who have a 1:2 Specialist Teaching Assistant, there is also another experienced general TA in the class. The majority of children arriving in school derive from White British Backgrounds with over 60% of pupils on free school meals. The behaviour policy is robust and effective; Senior Leaders have worked hard to maintain behaviour as GOOD in school.

The Head teacher has expressed, the school are not looking for a 'supply teacher', but a practitioner who will contribute to all aspects of school life who will form good working relationships with the school staff. A proven track record raising attainment in LKS2 is essential and the ability to build strong working relationships with the children is essential. You will be taking up the full role of the class teacher and be expected to go above and beyond in your role; including the attendance at parents evening, INSETs and any additional CPD opportunities.
