Sensory Impairment Specialist - SEND School

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Specialist Assistant to work with students in an SEND school for students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, the role will commence after the October half term on a long term basis.

The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with students with students aged between 11 and 19 who require specialist support. The school delivers the national curriculum to students at low levels as well as a sensory curriculum for those with the most profound difficulties, there is a variety of SEND in the school including:

• Speech and language difficulties
• Downs Syndrome
• Cerebral Palsy

Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with severe learning difficulties and a Moving and Handling qualification is also extremely beneficial. However, the client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth/social work, care work and graduates; the most important quality is a passion for improving the lives of young people and a kind and nurturing personality. Teaching Personnel can offer support assistant’s competitive pay rates of up to GBP65 per day, for the right candidate longer term rates can be negotiated on your behalf. This role will commence in November on a full time basis until the end of the academic year, however registration with Teaching Personnel will provide you with access to extensive further work opportunities.
