An award-winning group of SEN schools is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join our esteemed permanent staff at our Wolverhampton site. Key Responsibilities:
*Develop, implement, and evaluate the school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) policy and provision, making adjustments as necessary to ensure effectiveness.
*Lead and manage the support team to ensure that all students with special educational needs receive appropriate interventions and support.
*Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for SEN students.
*Organize and manage the assessment of students for potential learning difficulties and liaise with external agencies for additional support.
*Provide regular training and guidance to staff on SEN strategies and updates.
*Ensure the school complies with relevant legislation and best practices concerning special education needs.
Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a recognized SENCo qualification, or willingness to obtain the SENCo qualification within the first year of appointment.
*Proven experience in special education, ideally within a leadership role.
*Strong understanding of the latest SEN practices and legal requirements.
*Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to strategize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
*Empathetic and patient, with a strong commitment to enhancing student welfare and education outcomes.
