Job description

We're Hiring: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant – Northallerton (Start January)
Are you a compassionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference? A warm and inclusive primary school in Northallerton is seeking a dedicated TA to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with complex needs, including mobility and medical requirements.

Start Date: January 2026 (or January start – adjust as needed)
Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with complex SEND needs

  • Assisting with personal care, including wheelchair transfers and PEG feeding

  • Supporting learning and social development in a nurturing environment

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children with complex SEND needs

  • Confident with personal care routines and medical support (e.g. PEG feeding)

  • Patient, empathetic, and able to build strong, trusting relationships

  • Relevant SEND or Teaching Assistant qualification preferred

  • A team player with excellent communication and adaptability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
