SEND Teachers & Teaching Assistants
Job description
SEND Teachers & Teaching Assistants | Hailsham & Surrounding Areas
Already working in specialist education, or wondering whether a SEND setting could suit you?
I’m building connections with Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants around Hailsham and the surrounding areas.
I work within primary and secondary SEND and SEMH recruitment, and I’d like to hear from educators interested in being considered as suitable school needs arise.
Teachers
You may already have specialist experience or be considering a move from mainstream education.
I’m interested in your preferred age groups, subject strengths and experience adapting learning for pupils with different needs.
You’ll generally need QTS or an appropriate equivalent, with specific requirements discussed before you’re considered for a school.
Teaching Assistants & LSAs
Previous SEND experience can be useful, alongside relevant experience from mainstream education, care, youth work, mentoring, coaching or tutoring.
Supporting learning, building relationships and encouraging independence can all form part of SEND support work. Expectations vary between settings, so we’ll discuss those properly when considering suitable opportunities.
Understanding what works for you
Before moving into recruitment, I worked directly within SEND education myself.
I know that the right environment makes a difference. We’ll talk about your experience, working preferences and travel options so I understand what you’re looking for.
You’ll also have access to CPD and professional development.
Pay & practical information
TA and LSA opportunities are paid from £92.60 per day, with qualified teaching roles paid to scale where applicable.
You’ll need an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service. If you don’t currently hold one, you’ll need to apply through us and join the Update Service. I’ll support you through the process, with the associated cost covered by the applicant.
We’ll require your full employment and education history and references covering 24 months of employment in total where possible, prioritising recent and relevant employment.
Interested?
Apply and tell me about your background, availability and what you’d like to explore around Hailsham.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
