SEND Engagement Mentor – Building Confidence and Connection
Teaching Personnel are working with a dynamic SEND school in East Sussex that provides specialist support for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and a range of additional needs. We are searching for a SEND Engagement Mentor who can bring consistency, empathy, and thoughtful guidance to pupils who may find school particularly challenging.

About the Role
As an SEND Engagement Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting pupils to engage with learning, develop communication skills, and manage their emotions throughout the school day.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working with pupils individually and in small groups to support engagement
- Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and behaviour needs
- Using creative and practical approaches to make learning accessible
- Providing structure, reassurance, and a steady, positive presence
- Encouraging independence, problem-solving, and confidence
- Collaborating with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
You will help pupils feel safe, understood, and prepared to make meaningful progress each day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
