Job description

SEND Education Opportunities – Find the Right Fit Across East Sussex

SEND education isn’t one-size-fits-all — and neither are the people who work in it.

I’m a recruitment consultant with a background in SEND education, currently working with a range of SEND and SEMH schools across East Sussex. I’m looking to connect with educators who want meaningful work, but who also care about finding the right setting, team and pace.

Rather than pushing one vacancy, my focus is on understanding what you’re good at and where you’ll thrive.

What Opportunities Might Look Like

Depending on your experience and preferences, roles may include:

  • Teaching roles within SEND and SEMH settings
  • Teaching Assistant and LSA positions
  • Classroom and learning support roles
  • Behaviour, engagement or pastoral-focused roles
  • Short-term, long-term or ongoing placements
  • Primary and secondary SEND schools

Some educators want routine and stability.
Others want variety and movement.
Both are absolutely valid — and both are supported.

Who This Is Well Suited To

This may be a good fit if you:

  • Have experience with children or young people (education, care, youth work, coaching, etc.)
  • Are calm, resilient and comfortable building relationships
  • Enjoy adapting to different environments
  • Want honest conversations about SEND settings
  • Are open to training and development

SEND or SEMH experience is beneficial but not essential. Many schools provide ongoing training and support, so attitude and willingness to learn are key.

Why Work This Way?

  • Access to multiple SEND opportunities across East Sussex
  • Clear insight into schools before you commit
  • Flexibility around the type of work you take on
  • Ongoing opportunities without repeated applications
  • Support from someone who understands SEND from inside education

Practical Details

  • Opportunities available across East Sussex
  • Immediate and upcoming roles
  • Pay depends on the role: teachers paid to scale, TA/LSA roles paid at £89.38 per day
  • A child-only DBS is required — support provided if needed
