Job description

SEND Education Opportunities – Build a Role That Works for You (East Sussex)

SEND education looks different in every school — and the right role depends just as much on you as it does on the setting.

I’m a recruitment consultant with a background in SEND education, working with a range of SEND and SEMH schools across East Sussex. I’m currently looking to connect with educators who want meaningful work supporting young people, but who also value flexibility, honesty, and the chance to find the right fit.

Rather than pushing one vacancy, my approach is simple: understand what you’re good at, what you enjoy, and where you’ll thrive — then match you accordingly.

Types of Roles Available

Opportunities across East Sussex may include:

  • Teaching roles within SEND and SEMH settings
  • Teaching Assistant and LSA positions
  • Classroom and learning support roles
  • Behaviour, engagement, or pastoral-focused support roles
  • Short-term, long-term, or ongoing placements
  • Primary and secondary SEND schools

Whether you’re looking for consistency in one setting or variety across different schools, there are options to suit both.

Who This Is For

These opportunities are well suited to people who:

  • Have experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work, coaching, etc.)
  • Are calm, reflective, and confident building relationships
  • Understand that behaviour is often communication
  • Want work that feels purposeful and rewarding
  • Are open to learning and developing within SEND education

Experience in SEND or SEMH is welcome but not essential. Many schools provide ongoing training and support, so attitude, resilience, and willingness to learn are key.

What You Can Expect From Working With Me

  • Access to a range of SEND opportunities, not just one role
  • Honest conversations about schools, expectations, and challenges
  • Support in finding roles that match your strengths
  • Flexibility around the type of work you take on
  • Ongoing opportunities without repeatedly reapplying
  • A consultant who understands SEND from inside the classroom

Practical Information

  • Opportunities available across East Sussex
  • Immediate and upcoming roles
  • Pay depends on the role: teaching roles are paid to scale, and TA/LSA roles are paid at £89.38 per day
  • A child-only DBS is required for school-based work — support is provided if needed
