SEND Nurture Guide – Supporting Children With Complex Needs

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a fantastic SEND school that supports children with a range of complex needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). We’re searching for a SEND Nurture Guide — someone who can bring warmth, resilience, and creativity into each school day.

What Is a SEND Nurture Guide?

A Nurture Guide is someone who works alongside children who may find school overwhelming at times, offering emotional regulation, encouragement, and gentle guidance. You’ll be the person who helps them feel safe, confident, and ready to engage with learning in a way that works best for them.

This role is ideal for someone who values connection, patience, and celebrating small but meaningful steps of progress.

The Role Includes:

• Working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils with SLD and associated needs
• Supporting children with emotional regulation, communication, and engagement
• Helping pupils develop independence, confidence, and social skills
• Providing a calm, consistent and predictable presence that helps children settle and thrive
• Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Bringing creativity and positivity into everyday activities, from sensory play to structured routines

• Positive, reliable, and able to maintain a consistently steady, grounded approach

• Open to learning SEND strategies, communication tools, and therapeutic approaches

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
