SEN Tutor

Are you a teacher? Do you want to make your own hours and curriculum? Do you want to support those who need you most?

We are looking for a tutor to work one to one with various young people. These young people are in need of extra support with their schoolwork and overall academic development due to their exceptional circumstances. The reasons this young people are either no accessing mainstream education ort need further support while they are attending school is due them being Looked After, having SEN or being excluded from mainstream education.

You as a tutor would have complete autonomy over your work, creating individualised schemes of learning to support these young people. Your lessons will need to be engaging and promote progress but can be tailored to suit your owns style and the learning methods of the young person. These young people will most likely need support in English and Maths to support their future career prospects.

The tuition is usually carried out either in the home of the young person or another suitable learning environment such as a library or the school they be registered with. If this is within a school setting, the majority will need Maths and English either as Functional Skills or possibly GCSE.

The ideal tutor would have:

  • A Teaching Qualification/ tutoring Experience
  • Experience of working one to one with young people
  • A calm and patient personality

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
