Job Title: SEN Tutor

Location: England, Greater London, Romford

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £20 - £25 Per hour

Job Duties:

The SEN Tutor will provide tailored educational support to students with special educational needs (SEN). Duties include developing individualised learning plans, delivering lessons in line with the curriculum, assessing student progress, and adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students. The tutor will also collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development.

Required Qualifications:

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Strong understanding of SEN policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a tutor or teacher, preferably with SEN students.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of various teaching strategies for students with SEN
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive learning materials
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Empathy and patience when working with students with diverse needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Education Needs
  • Experience in conducting assessments and creating individual education plans

Working Conditions:

The SEN Tutor will work in a classroom or one-to-one setting with students. The role may involve some travel to different educational settings within the Greater London area.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
