Job Title: 1:1 Tutor – Cambridge Area
Location: Cambridge and surrounding areas (in-person delivery in homes and community settings)
Hours: Part-time / Flexible
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (weekly PAYE pay)
About the Role
TP Tutors is seeking passionate, reliable, and dedicated 1:1 Tutors to support children and young people across the Cambridge area in English and/or Maths. This role involves working with learners outside of mainstream school settings, helping them rebuild confidence, close academic gaps, and re-engage positively with education.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 sessions in English and/or Maths.

Support learners with SEND, SEMH, or other additional needs using a child-centred and adaptable approach.

Implement effective behaviour management and engagement strategies to maintain focus and motivation.

Monitor student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback and next steps to the tuition team and/or parents/carers.
Requirements

A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) is preferred; strong tutoring or teaching experience will also be considered.

Secure subject knowledge in English and/or Maths.

Experience working with children or young people, ideally including those with additional needs.

An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one (support provided).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
