SEN Teaching Assistant

Location:

West Midlands, Birmingham, United Kingdom

Temporary, Full-Time hours

Salary:

£83 - £85 Per day

Primary Industry:

Job Duties:

  • Provide support and assistance to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting
  • Implement individualised education plans under the guidance of the class teacher
  • Assist with the development and implementation of educational activities tailored to meet the needs of SEN students
  • Support students with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a caring and understanding manner
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working with SEN students
  • Understanding of special education needs and strategies to support student learning
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Additional qualifications in Special Education or Teaching Assistant training is desirable

Experience:

  • Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
  • Experience with SEN students in an educational setting

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Patience and empathy when working with students with SEN

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • First Aid training

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a school environment with regular classroom activities
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviours from students with SEN
  • Full-Time hours with occasional flexibility required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
