SEN Teaching Assistants- Wigan

  • SEN Teaching Assistants
  • Required to start immediately
  • Working 1-to-1 and with small groups of pupils
  • School located on the outskirts of Wigan

Due to increased demand from our partner school in Wigan for specialised support for their pupils, Teaching Personnel are seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to start immediately. These positions are a fantastic opportunity to showcase yourself ahead of September.

Our client school located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to support their pupils from after Easter all the way through to the summer initially. This will include supporting pupils within their classes and within the school's inclusion unit. Experience of dealing with special educational needs such as autism and Asperger's is preferred due to the large cohort of the pupils who have individual education plans. Further, your role will be to act as a positive influence within their lives and encourage pupils considered to be disadvantaged to attend school and achieve their potential.

The Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) and the Inclusion Manager wish to trial interested candidates after the Easter holidays, thus providing an immediate opportunity to gain regular work in one school. Further, in a recent meeting with the Deputy Head teacher, it was stated that they wish to use this period of time to determine who could be suitable for a long term/fixed term position from September.

The school is located only a short drive away from the areas of Aspull, Westhoughton, Leigh and Ashton-in-Makerfield. There are also direct public transport links via bus or train to the school.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
