Year 5 & Year 3 SEN Teaching Assistant, Islington (Old Street)

A lovely two form entry mainstream school in Islington, N1 are looking for a Year 5 & 3 (working between both year groups) SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team! The school offers excellent education and links with external schools and stakeholders. The school is located in the heart of Islington, walking distance from Angel and Old Street stations (Northern line). The school is rated 'Good' by Ofsted and continues to excel.

Aims of our school:

  • We try to ensure that everyone is treated fairly and respectfully
  • We want to make sure that our school is a safe and secure place for everyone
  • We recognise that people have different needs, and we understand that treating people equally does not always involve treating them the same

School enrichment activities include a trip to the Opera theatre, the health ecology centre, world poetry day, cake sales and the annual school talent show.

Year 5 & Year 3 SEN Teaching Assistant

Experience working with children with ASC

The SEN Assistant:

  • Team player attitude
  • Driven, reliable and hard-working
  • Clear and thorough understanding of the curriculum
  • Secure knowledge and skills relating to strategies in working with pupils of all achievement levels.
  • An interest, motivation and passion for working with special needs children and developing skills to facilitate this
  • Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
