SEN – Teaching Assistant (Sutton Coldfield)

Full-Time | Term-Time | £420–£445 per week | September Start

A Primary Special School in Sutton Coldfield is looking for a caring, motivated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time, term-time role supporting pupils aged 4–11 who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and a variety of special educational needs, including autism and communication difficulties.

 What You’ll Do:

  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with their learning and personal development

  • Help children build essential communication and social skills

  • Work alongside experienced teachers and therapists in a team that values your input

  • Assist in creating a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom atmosphere

  • Encourage independence and self-confidence in daily routines


 This Role Is Ideal If You:

  • Want experience working with children with autism or other additional needs

  • Are considering a career in educational psychology, speech & language therapy, counselling, or SEN teaching

  • Are a recent graduate or someone looking to build practical experience in a specialist school setting

  • Have worked in education, care, youth work or with children in any capacity

  • Are patient, proactive, and genuinely care about helping children succeed


What You’ll Need:

  • A positive, flexible attitude

  • Confidence working as part of a team

  • A genuine interest in SEN and child development

  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)


What You’ll Get:

  • Daily Rate - £84 - £95 (dependent on experience/ qualifications)

  • Full-time, term-time role (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
