SEN Teaching Assistant required

Job description

A SEN school in Wells are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2018.

This SEN school has over 25 boys and girls between the ages of 8 - 18, nearly all of whom have statements of special educational needs. Most have failed to thrive in their previous educational settings; some have developmental disorders such as ASD/ Tourette's.

They currently have over 30 teaching staff working at the school, all of whom are highly experienced in working with young people. The school has individually tailored learning plans for every student that matches their educational and development needs.

Your role would involve:

  • Providing 1:1 personalised support to students
  • Safeguarding students welfare
  • Deliver study plans and record outcomes

It is essential you have experience working with children that have special needs.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
